Vermiculite |
Product Specification:
Vermiculite is a mineral similar to mica. During a process
called Exfoliation, Vermiculite is subjected to intense heat and can expand
up to twenty times its original size.
As Exfoliation occurs, millions of microscopic gaps are created within
the plates which give Vermiculite excellent insulation and water retention
properties.
Besides these highly beneficial qualities, Vermiculite is lightweight,
air entraining and absorbent. It is also environmentally friendly, chemically
neutral and virtually sterile after exfoliation.

Vermiculite exists as lightweight, accordion shaped granules which are coloured from light to dark brown.

Packaging
Vermiculite is packed in 100 litre Polypropylene bags, with 24 bags per pallet. It is also available in Bulk Bag Supply.
Storage
Vermiculite bags must be kept dry until ready for use.
The bags should be stored covered, off the ground, and away from wet or
damp surfaces or areas of very high humidity. During storage or transportation,
compaction of the product is likely to occur.
