Product Specification: Perlite is a raw material which in its natural state is a glassy volcanic rock containing a percentage of water. During a process called “Expansion”, Perlite
is rapidly heated and expands up to twenty times its original size, due
to the evaporation of the moisture from within. Expanded Perlite is a lightweight, air entraining material, which is both absorbent and acts as a filter aid. It is sterile and both environmentally friendly and chemically neutral. Product Data Perlite exists in a white or grey coloured, granular form.
Packaging Perlite is packed in 100 litre paper
sacks, with 24 bags per pallet. It is also available in Bulk Bag supply. Perlite bags must be kept dry until ready for use. The bags should be stored covered, off the ground, and away from wet or damp surfaces or areas of very high humidity.During storage or transportation, compaction of the product is likely to occur.
