An inventive ‘curtain wall’ system! This exclusive LAF system offers a high performance wall which circumvents height restrictions (slenderness ratio) normally applied to conventional walls. LAF’s Trimesh wall is FM Global ‘type tested’ approved to 4 hours and a double Trimesh wall provides a sound reduction of up to 64 dB. Vermitex TH is also a very good lightweight thermal insulator which allows for a considerable reduction of cement (from 170mm to 75mm i.e. 55%) used in conventional firewall construction.

Reduced thickness

75 mm Vermitex TH replaces a 170mm 4 hr Concrete Wall;

Reduce acoustic wall thickness and maintain clearances around services where composite LAF Wall system combinations are employed for dB reductions up to 64 STC;

Reduced weight on Walls

Lighter walls thus reducing (up to 50%) the amount of steel members required to:

a)     break the height of a wall;

b)     carry the additional wall loads to comply with slenderness ratio limits;

c)     reinforce the wall with vertical elements;

Hose Stream Test

Wall system has successfully passed the ASTM E-2226 requirements of the hose stream jet test. Sprinklers do not pose a threat to the wall integrity;

Monolithic application

No Joints also means reduced air leaks and the elimination of elastomeric jointing compounds which may crack over time, with increased air handling efficiency and reduced losses; Less installation time;

Unrestricted height

The system can be engineered to construct walls of almost unrestricted height;

System Certification

One single Contractor Certifies the whole System after walls are installed, leaving no room for demarcation/training issues between multiple contractors;
